Ashwagandha*
Ashwaganda is a calming adaptogen that helps the body manage daily stress by reducing cortisol.
In animal and human studies, ashwagandha root was found to stimulate the thyroid, making it useful for hypothyroidism. Ashwaganda enhances endocrine function, especially helping to re-regulate the thyroid, testes, adrenal glands.
Because of its nervine and adaptogenic functions, ashwagandha is very effective for anxiety, fatigue, cloudy thinking, stress-induced insomnia, and neurasthenia (nervous exhaustion). It helps with chronic fatigue immune deficiency syndrome, and autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and polymyositis (autoimmune inflammation of voluntary muscles).
Astragalus*
Astragalus is an antioxidant to aid in regulating the immune system. It strengthens the lungs and helps prevent colds, influenza, bronchitis, mononucleosis, pneumonia and infection by coxsackie B virus (the major cause of mycocarditis).
Helps prevent immunosuppression caused by chemotherapy and has tumor-inhibiting activity. In a Chinese studies, astragalus combined with ligusticum fruit (licorice root) increased survival times in patients with breast and non-small-cell lung cancer.
Regular use of this root has been shown to prevent kidney and liver damage caused by medications and viruses.
Siberian Ginseng*
Siberian ginseng is an adaptogen to assist with memory and cognition. It strengthens the immune system, and regular use will reduce the incidence of colds and other common infectious diseases.
It increases endurance and stamina, enhances mitochondrial activity, speeds recovery and prevents immune-depletion from excess training in athletes. It can be combined with cordycepts, rhodiola, or schisandra for enhancing athletic performance and for improving alertness and cognitive function when under severe stress or when working long hours.
It can be used for type A people who work long hours, don’t get adequate sleep or nutrition, and have a motto of “work hard, play hard, and hardly sleep.” It acts like a nervine to improve the quality of sleep and prevents nighttime waking.
Siberian Ginseng can also be used for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), chronic fatigue immune deficiency syndrome, jet lag, and adrenal fatigue.

Hebanthe eriantha, commonly known as “Suma” or “Brazilian ginseng,” is a plant found throughout South America. Suma’s root have been used in traditional medicine for centuries and have a wide variety of potential health benefits for the brain, immune, and digestive systems. It also boosts energy, protects vital organs, increases hormone synthesis, and may even fight cancer.
Suma is an adaptogen, which means that it improves the body’s ability to cope with stress and provides resistance against diseases and various harmful biological and environmental factors.
Suma root may be a potent anti-cancer supplement. However, in most of the studies, suma generally appears to slow down the rate of tumor growth, but not reverse or cure it altogether. Cacao*
Cacao is an antioxidant that contributes to overall wellbeing. It’s especially abundant in flavanols, which have potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. A study in adults given high-flavanol cocoa found blood flow to the brain increased by 8% after one week and 10% after two weeks of consuming cacao regularly.
